Sharing intelligence and views on the EU’s main research and innovation programme

The Horizon Europe Working Group

For over 15 years, Science|Business – through its team of journalists and experts in Brussels and beyond, along with members of its international Network – has been closely following and informing public debate on the EU’s research framework programmes (FPs). Our current focus, understandably, is on Horizon Europe, the latest multi-year FP which will invest over €95 billion to boost science, technology and innovation in Europe through to 2027.

As a core annual service to and for all of our Network members, we convene a series of exclusive, closed-door meetings each year – through what we call our “FP Working Group” – with key policy-makers responsible for the implementation of different parts of Horizon Europe.  Topics range widely, from innovation financing and the European Research Area, to the Horizon missions, basic research, and synergies. The objectives are simple:

  1. to enable our members to learn more about the latest developments, priorities and planning within the Commission;

  1. to facilitate an engaged, constructive discussion between our community and decision-makers in Brussels on ways in which the value and impact of Horizon Europe can be maximised.
