The European Investment Bank (EIB) says its new rules on security and defence technologies will accelerate the deployment of funds earmarked for dual-use research and innovation, but it currently has no plans to allocate additional money.

The directors of EIB last month approved an updated definition of dual-use goods and infrastructure that are eligible for EIB Group financing, after pressure from member states and the European Commission to provide defence companies with more support amid the war in Ukraine.
