Quantum may yet turn out to be the next big trend in tech, but for now the market is relatively small. For a firm like Quantonation Ventures looking to get ahead of the curve, that means working with academics to explore the commercial applications of their research.
The Paris and Boston-based venture capital firm recently announced the first closing of its second early-stage fund at €70 million of the €200 million target, which it plans to invest in 25 companies, reserving a portion for follow-on rounds.
Investors include the FNA 2 French seed fund, managed by public bank Bpifrance; and Bradley M. Bloom, founder of American private equity firm Berkshire Partners.
