The results of the European Defence Fund’s (EDF) 2023 call released last week, saw 54 projects awarded total funding of just above €1 billion. In all, 581 organisations will take part in this third batch of projects, with SMEs receiving 18% of the total funding.
Naval- and space-focused projects have now attracted around €692 million over the course of the scheme’s three years of existence. This amounts to around 22% of the total EU investment in the fund.
