The EU is planning several joint calls with India in next year’s work programme for Horizon Europe, as Brussels tries to strengthen its links with New Delhi, in order to weaken Russian influence.

European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen announced the EU-India Trade and Technology Council (TTC) in April 2022, shortly after Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine and as the bloc cast around for more geopolitical allies.
