Researchers at the University of Twente’s research institute MESA+ are constructing molecular machines capable of exerting a measurable force at nanoscale and in fluid environment. The design of these machines is based on self-assembling supramolecular tubules which can accumulate and store energy from light and convert it into a mechanical work.
On 9 September, Wilma van Ingen succeeded Herman Hazewinkel as chairperson of the University of Twente Funds foundation. Ms van Ingen is chairperson of the board of directors of the Nysingh Advocaten & Notarissen law firm with branches in Zwolle, Arnhem, Apeldoorn and Utrecht. She previously held the position of managing director at the chamber of commerce for the eastern Netherlands.
