The EU’s Clean Industrial Deal promises €600 million clean tech flagship and boost for Innovation Fund

Horizon Europe will devote €600 million to “deployment-ready” clean technology projects, according to the EU’s new Clean Industrial Deal, published last week.
These “flagship projects” will aim to create closer links between EU research programmes and the Innovation Fund for clean technology deployment.
No details have been made public yet, but a European Commission memo leaked last week suggests the flagships will finance the operational demonstration of state-of-the-art clean technologies that are ready for market deployment and scale-up in 2026 and 2027.
