A short volume of statistical data supports the IEA's big report on renewable energy.

The International Energy Agency has released a free 12-page crib sheet of data on "Renewables in Global Energy Supply" to go with the big report we wrote about the other day.

"This pamphlet presents as objectively as possible the main elements of the current renewables energy situation."

Believe it or not, they reckon that renewables account for 13.3% of the world's total primary energy output. Unfortunately, most of that, 10.6% of the world's total, is "Combustible Renewables
and Ren. Waste" that probably doesn't do much for climate change. The really "alternative" stuff is the 0.5% lumped together as "other".
