Cambridge and Warwick universities are now accessible through YouTube EDU, a central location where people can quickly and easily view higher education institutions’ videos on YouTube.

In the fortnight since its launch, Cambridge videos have had over 459,000 views and are currently the most viewed on YouTube EDU. The videos posted by Cambridge range dynamic profiles of some of the research being conducted at the university, to lectures on an array of subjects.

One of the most popular videos is the Cambridge Ideas video ‘How Many Light Bulbs’, which highlights some of the research by David MacKay.

Warwick has launched on the site with an exclusive filmed debate about Shakespeare’s Sonnets and will be publishing a range of materials, including many films and lectures already available via the iTunesU service, plus careers information, interviews with alumni and content produced by its students.

Anna De Paula Hanika, product marketing for YouTube said, “YouTube EDU is a global classroom where everyone, from those who want to see what university courses are like, to the intellectually curious, to graduates looking to reignite their studies, can watch and engage with a range of scholastic videos that have been uploaded by some of the world’s most prestigious universities.”
