The UK's seven research councils have set out a strategy to internationalise their activities to pull in more researchers from overseas and enable cross country funding of projects.

The European Science Foundation has managed to preserve its contract to manage COST, (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) under the Seventh Framework Programme, agreeing a Euro 210 million deal with the European Commission.
