The Japan Science and Technology Agency  (JST) is an innovative and forward-looking research funder, bridging the gap between science and society and pursuing an ultimate goal of universal human well-being.

JST plays a central role in Japan's Science, Technology, and Innovation Basic Plan, from funding basic research to commercializing new technologies, distributing science and technology information, promoting international joint research and fostering next generation human resources. We have the widest range of activities among Japan’s national research funders and make the most active contribution to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Looking ahead we continue to strengthen our close relationships with universities, research institutes and industry inside and outside Japan, create collaborative science and technology innovation, and make steps towards a more prosperous and resilient global society.
