The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), （President HASHIMOTO Kazuhito） and ORCID, Inc. (stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID, Executive Director Chris Shillum) signed a strategic partnership MOC on 28th March 2025.
The MOC focuses on raising awareness and encouraging researchers to use their ORCID iD throughout the lifecycle of research data, as well as on mutual collaboration publicizing and supporting JST hosted events inviting ORCID experts.
Both parties aim to promote understanding and dissemination of persistent identifiers (PIDs), including strengthening collaboration with JST information services such as researchmap and Japan Link Center (JaLC).
The MOC with ORCID, a global organization that promotes IDs that identify researchers, is expected to contribute to improving the international visibility and promoting the international brain circulation of Japanese researchers.
