The National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) has announced the next Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) call for proposals on European Battery Innovation (EuBatIn) under the European Funds for a Modern Economy Programme for 2021-2027 co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund. It is another opportunity for Polish entrepreneurs to carry out advanced research and development projects that are a subject of common European interest.
The European Commission has issued a positive decision authorising state aid for IPCEI as it is a mechanism that supports the implementation of the economic and competition policies of the European Union to strengthen the capacity of European industry against the background of global competition. The aim is to let the beneficiaries and their partners focus their work on four working field areas: Raw Materials and Advanced Materials, Battery Cells, Battery Systems, Recycling and Sustainability.
The implementation of the IPCEI allows Polish entrepreneurs to gather knowledge and best practices and become a part of value chains for breakthrough technologies. It will help to foster the internationalisation of Polish enterprises through the possibility of establishing close cooperation with entrepreneurs from other EU countries operating in the field area of advanced technologies. Ultimately, the projects are also expected to stimulate the export of high-tech products.
NCBR has earmarked PLN 135 million (approximately EUR 31 million) for the IPCEI EuBatln call. The call for proposals will be open from the 13th of May to the 21st of June 2024.
