We are looking to expand our Network team from April 2025, with a primary focus on expanding the intelligence we offer around latest policy developments and funding opportunities, increasing member engagement, supporting the operational execution of projects and events, and raising the Network’s visibility to an international audience of R&I professionals. The successful candidate will work closely with our Network Director on the portfolio of tasks outlined below.

Main tasks

  • Track, analyse and advise the team on strategic R&I issues at EU and national levels
  • Liaise with Network members – bilaterally or in the form of surveys - to understand their strategic policy objectives, evolving interests and concerns around EU R&I policies, funding programmes and processes
  • Draft concept notes and shape event programmes
  • Identify key stakeholders across the world in specific research and technology policy domains
  • Produce event summaries
  • Take the lead on certain projects / events (to be determined with the management)
  • Conduct background research to support other company projects and expert groups
  • Contribute actively to physical and virtual events (from closed-door meetings to large conferences), including event moderation 
  • Represent the Network as a public speaker in relevant external fora  

The newly appointed Policy Officer will report to the Network Director. 

Profile requirements

  • A university or advanced degree (ideally in EU affairs or political science) 
  • At least 3 years of working experience in a field related to the job
  • In-depth understanding of the European institutions and the research and innovation policy landscape
  • Track record of policy expertise in at least one sector (e.g. health, energy, space, digital)
  • Previous experience with associations or membership organisations a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English – French, Dutch and German considered a plus
  • At ease with public speaking
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
  • Team player
