The United Nations has declared 2025 the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, with the aim of increasing public awareness of the science and its applications.

“Quantum technologies have a great potential to accelerate progress towards achieving a more sustainable and equitable world, and this is now formally acknowledged beyond the scientific community,” said Thierry Breton, Commissioner for internal market of the EU.
