The country leads, and Greek organisations take the crown for participation in Horizon Europe civil security research
Greece is the leader of the third cluster of Horizon Europe’s Pillar II, bringing home 15% of the funding distributed to date for research into civil security for society.
The cluster, focused on priorities ranging from combating terrorism to cybersecurity and border management, has the smallest budget in Pillar II, with a total of €599 million awarded so far, according to data from CORDIS.
Of this, Greek organisations secured €91 million, scattered across 113 organisations. In comparison, for Horizon Europe overall, the country currently ranks seventh.
Greek institutions have coordinated 28 projects, the most of any country. On average, each institution has received €807,797, second only to organisations in Luxembourg, where the average is €831,901 per organisation.
