ESOF 2018: Deadline for scientific proposals extended to 23 June

The deadline for submitting scientific session proposals for the 8th edition of the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF 2018) has been extended until 23 June 2017.

Any person or institution can propose sessions, as long as they fall within the framework of ESOF main themes and comply with ESOF requirements, namely interdisciplinarity, high scientific value and European character. Sessions will focus on current and future path-breaking science and its ways of producing and sharing knowledge and innovation.

Proposals are welcome from the science community at large, universities, corporate R&D, science media and communication, and also various social actors.

The six-day event is organised by the Université Fédérale Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées and is is supported by the European Commission, the French Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research, the Région Occitanie and Toulouse Métropole.

The forum will be held in Toulouse from 9 to 14 July 2018 under the motto “Sharing Science: towards new horizons”. Dedicated to science, innovation and their relations with society, ESOF 2018 will offer a unique framework for interaction and debate for scientists from all over the world, business people, policy makers, science communicators, and the general public.

The sharing of knowledge is at the heart of the event, especially through its science programme which will include numerous seminars, workshops and debates led by world-renowned scientists on the latest breakthroughs in research.
