Rector of the University of Luxembourg resigns

The Rector of the University of Luxembourg Rainer Klump announced his resignation on Tuesday 2 May 2017. Rainer Klump has served as Rector since January 2015.

During his mandate, the University has settled on the new Belval Campus, it has successfully participated to international rankings and has conducted the first evaluation of its research. It has also taken further steps in its development and created the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History as well as the Luxembourg Center of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, the latter in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Rainer Klump is reorienting his career beyond the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The Board of Governors and the University community thank him for his commitment and wish him all the best for his personal and professional endeavours.

In a transition phase, between creation and consolidation, Rainer Klump has contributed with valuable input to the development of the University and the enhancement of the international visibility of Luxembourg’s research and higher education activities.
