Under the renewed agreement, the business school and the Spanish financial institution will work together to promote entrepreneurship in Spain

ESADE and Banco Santander have renewed the collaboration agreement that they first signed in 2010 with the aim of jointly promoting Spanish entrepreneurship and supporting projects developed by the ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute.

The ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute participates in Executive Education, the MBA and the University Programmes by contributing content related to entrepreneurship, family businesses, growth strategies and internationalisation, and by providing advice on launching new business ideas.

Eugenia Bieto, Director General of ESADE, commented: "Santander’s support has enabled us to position ourselves among the top schools in the field of entrepreneurship, an activity whose social importance has grown as a result of the economic climate of the past few years." With this same motivation, Santander’s Universities Division has for many years collaborated with higher educational institutions as a means of contributing to growth and to economic and social progress.

Luis Herrero, Deputy General Manager and Regional Director for Catalonia at Banco Santander, commented: "Innovation and entrepreneurship are a high-priority area in Santander’s efforts to support the university community. This collaboration with ESADE allows us to help promote knowledge transfer, technological development, innovation and responsible entrepreneurship through the ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute, a leading centre of academic excellence in the field of entrepreneurship."

Academic leader in the entrepreneurship field

The ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute has secured its position as a global leader in the field of entrepreneurship through action-oriented training and research, as well as by actively participating in the social debate and supporting entrepreneurs’ projects as a means of promoting social progress.

ESADE’s Sant Cugat campus – home of the EGarage, a space where students can launch their business ideas – boasts a classroom named for Banco Santander in recognition of the bank’s support.

The new four-year agreement was signed by Eugenia Bieto, Director General of ESADE, and Luis Herrero, Regional Director of Santander Universities.
