Nencki Institute: L’Oreal Poland – UNESCO Award for Women in Science

Dr Malgorzata Zawadzka from the Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology was awarded with the L’Oreal Poland – UNESCO Award for Women in Science, in the 13th edition of this program.
 
Małgorzata Zawadzka was graduated from Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin, and obtained her PhD at the Institute of Genetics and Animal Breeding in Jastrzebiec. Since 2000 Małgorzata works at the Nencki Institute. Her study focuses on identification of the molecular mechanisms determining functions and the fate of glial and neural stem cells after CNS injury and their modulation in order to enhance the regenerative processes. She is an author and co-author of 17 original publications and 7 review papers in the international scientific journals.
