On September 16, Chalmers and ABB signed a long-term strategic collaboration agreement during a festive ceremony. There are already successful ongoing activities with ABB and the purpose of the agreement is to further strengthen and strategically develop the collaboration in a long-term perspective.
The agreement with ABB is the fourth in a series of strategic industrial collaboration agreements coordinated by Chalmers Energy Area of Advance. A seminar was arranged to celebrate the agreement where ABB's CEO Johan Söderström started by enthusiastically talk about the future needs for engineers, which the agreement intend to encourage. Chalmers scientist Stanislaw Gubanski shared experiences from the research collaboration and former Chalmers student Datong Li, now employed at ABB, spoke about the benefits of the collaboration from a student perspective. Chairing the seminar was Anders Ådahl, director of the Chalmers Area of Advance.
Chalmers President Karin Markides and ABB's CEO Johan Söderström concluded the seminar by a ceremony where two cords, symbolizing each organisation, were connected framed by a fanfare, singing and cake.
