ESADE enters the European top 5, according to the Financial Times' business school ranking

05 Dec 2012 | Network Updates

ESADE is among the top 5 business schools in Europe, according to the Financial Times’ European Business School Ranking (also known as the “Ranking of Rankings"). To provide an overview of the continent’s business schools, this annual list combines the various programme-based rankings (Master in Management, MBA, Executive MBA, Open Executive Education and Custom Executive Education) published by the British business daily over the course of the year.

According to Alfons Sauquet, Dean of ESADE Business School, “ESADE’s presence near the top of all the Financial Times’ rankings reflects the school’s commitment to excellence in all its programmes and in particular its ability to adapt to changes in times of crisis and to help individuals and organisations achieve their goals. Being named among the top 5 schools simply encourages us to continue down this path."

ESADE listed in all categories in 2012

ESADE’s programmes have been rated among the best in Europe: its Master in Management (MIM) took 6th place in Europe, its MBA took 12th place and its Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) took 9th place in its debut showing in the ranking.

ESADE’s master’s programmes for executives were also well ranked: the school’s custom programmes for companies placed 3rd and its programmes for executives placed 7th.

Internationalisation scores high

One of the areas in which ESADE scored highest was the international experience offered in its classrooms: the design of its programmes, the student experience, the geographic wealth and diversity of its student body, and the international mobility they embody. ESADE’s GEMBA in particular stands out not only for its global focus but for the multicultural profile of its participants.

The 37 students in this year’s GEMBA course hail from 19 different countries: the United States, Canada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, South Africa, South Korea, India and Iran.

In its latest rankings of Masters in International Management, the Financial Times ranked ESADE’s programme number 1 in the world in terms of international labour mobility. Over 90% of the programme’s graduates find work abroad, for example in the United States, Germany, France or the United Kingdom.

Among the leaders in career advancement

The Financial Times’ MBA ranking took into account the career advancement enjoyed by students in the three years following their graduation. More than 90% of students secure employment within three months of having completed their studies and over 80% of them take a job outside of Spain. Of these graduates, 59% find work elsewhere in Europe, 16% in Latin America, 12% in Asia, 8% in North America and 3% in the Middle East.
