David Begg joins Imperial Innovations as non-executive director

Professor David Begg has joined the Imperial Innovations Board as a non-executive director with immediate effect. David joins the Group from Imperial College where he was Professor of Economics and Principal of its Business School from 2003 until his retirement from that position in February 2012.

During his career, he has held a number of distinguished advisory and academic appointments. He was Professor of Economics at Birkbeck College, University of London, for 16 years and amongst other prestigious appointments served as a Visiting Fellow at the Reserve Bank of Australia and was a Visiting Professor at MIT. David has also acted for many years as an Economic Policy Adviser to the Bank of England.

Dr Martin Knight, Chairman of Imperial Innovations, said: "David will be a great asset to the Board bringing with him his wealth of knowledge of the academic community and his long experience as a leading economist and senior advisor to the government."
