UK Ministry of Defence competition: innovative ideas for trustworthy digital systems

Trustworthy Digital Systems research is required to identify, assess and develop innovative solutions in emerging digital technologies and techniques that provide an opportunity for, or pose a threat to, UK Defence.

The Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) is the Ministry of Defence’s gateway for UK science and technology for industry, academia and innovators to ensure that UK Armed Forces have access to the best equipment, science and technology, now and in the future.

This CDE call is for research proposals for innovative software developments in digital systems and information communication technology that:

  • Define future architectures and interfaces that enable a comprehensive approach through open, dynamic, trustworthy sharing of information and services across systems, organisations and nations.
  • Enable assurance of mission critical, safety critical and secure Digital capabilities to high levels.

The competition will launch at a seminar at in Cambridge on Wednesday 13th July 2011. The event will also provide the opportunity to question leading military and technical experts from the centre and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory.
