On 6th, 7th and 8th of June, Science Alliance in cooperation with Delft University of Technology and the Erasmus University Rotterdam is organizing the first international Science Marketing Conference to be held in Rotterdam & Delft, The Netherlands.
Topics that will be discussed in discussion groups of the general conference on June 7th include:
- Creating knowledge economies: political and scientific role
- Politics as principle: setting the research agendas
- Public-private science marketing: joint strategies
- Industrial perspective on science marketing
Presentations will be given among others by Daria Tataj (Executive Board Member, European Institute of Innovation & Technology), Jane Muir (Associate Director of University of Florida), Leonhard Hennen (Coordinator European Technology Assessment Group), Carl Johan Sundberg (Karolinska Institutet, Vice President of Euroscience) and Marja Makarow (Chief, executive, European Science Foundation). On June 6th, a course will be given by Jane Muir on the art of selling science effectively. Furthermore, the expert meeting on June 8th will translate the conclusions of the general conference (June 7th) into concrete plans of action for industry, universities and politics. Issues that will be addressed include:

- Involve public interest
- Create “one voice” among public research and business
- Achieving reliable communication on scientific issues
