ESADE Business Angels Network looks to increase number of private investors in 2011

The ESADE Business Angels Network (ESADE BAN), led by the newly-elected Joan Sureda from the ESADE Alumni Business Angels Club, has closed 2010 with results well above target, which truly confirms its constant growth. In the last twelve months, ESADE BAN has channelled a total funding of €1,440,000 for entrepreneurs involved in six projects, in which ten business angels from the 72-strong network have participated. With these figures, the network has exceeded targets and 2009 results by 44%.

Ever eager to expand, ESADE BAN organised seven investment forums last year, featuring a total of 72 active investors. The network considered almost 100 entrepreneurial projects, of which 25 were presented at the investment forums. Six operations were closed in all, involving ten business angels from ESADE BAN, with considerable investments made into projects such as the video game "The Crows" or the on-demand TV channel Wuaki.tv.

Amongst its strategic plans for 2011, ESADE BAN is committed to encouraging business acumen, which is one of the driving forces behind a country's economic growth and competitiveness. The network also aims to increase the number of private investors, the deal flow of entrepreneurial projects and the amount of activities held, with a view to becoming the top business angel network in Spain. Hence, fifteen investment forums are scheduled for 2011: seven of which will be held in Barcelona (five general and two dedicated to the healthcare and the CleanTech industries), five in Madrid and three in Valencia.
