Nemerix, a semiconductor company spun out from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, has closed a €25 million series B financing round.

Nemerix, a semiconductor company spun out from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, has closed a €25 million series B financing round.

Investors in the round include existing holders Atila Ventures, Auriga Partners, PolyTechnos Venture Partners and VI Partners, as well as new investors Cadence Design Systems and Oak Investment Partners.

Based in Lugano, Switzerland, NemeriX makes global positioning system chipsets geared for specialized applications such as location-based services in mobile handsets. NemeriXsays its proprietary architecture reduces both power consumption and chip size.
