Advance Display Technologies (ADT) plc is floating on the PLUS over the counter market in London, raising £25 million for the further development of a range of nanotechnologies for use in computer and other displays.

ADT identifies proprietary technologies at universities and funds their development in exchange for exclusive commercialisation rights.

The company has nine technologies in its portfolio, eight of which are being developed in collaboration with Cambridge University. It also has collaborations with the University of Bristol, and Imperial College, London.

ADT develops and commercialises nano materials and devices across the three fields of flexible displays; flat panel and projection displays, and plastic electronics.

Tony Goncalves, Executive Chairman of Advance Display Technologies, said the business strategy of setting up development agreements with universities with track records of successfully commercialising technologies is unique in the field. “This infrastructure gives us a very strong position with which to explore opportunities within the global display market.”

He added that the funding will be used to further develop existing technologies, and explore new possibilities. “Equally importantly it will increase our profile within the display industry and provide us with the ability to raise capital in the future.”
