Imperial Innovations is to provide support and incubation services to Rubber-Regen, a company developing processes to recycle used rubber.

Rubber-Regen is developing a process to de-vulcanise old rubber, which has the potential to break through existing limitations in rubber recycling and enable the reuse of more used rubber in new tyres. Around 250 million tyres a year become too worn for use in the EU, and very little of that rubber is currently recyclable.

The company is the first to be selected by Imperial Innovations for its Recycling Commercialisation Centre. The centre was set up to provide resources to innovative companies, and provides assistance with testing, management, marketing and investing.
