UK Trade & Investment is hosting a delegation of Brazilian biotechnology executives this week, with a view to developing collaborations between the two countries.

UK Trade & Investment is hosting a delegation of Brazilian biotechnology executives this week, with a view to developing collaborations between the two countries.

Over the past few years the biotech industry in Brazil has developed rapidly, and is now looking for opportunities to form partnerships abroad.

During the week long visit the executives will meet with UK companies to outline potential opportunities in the Brazilian market.

Brazil‚s pharmaceutical market is now the 11th largest in the world and the government plans to invest £2.43 billion into the industry over the next 10 years.

A couple of weeks ago the UK chief scientist David King traveled to Brazil to launch the UK/Brazil Year of Science to encourage greater collaboration in areas of common interest including medical sciences, health, climate change and agriculture.
