The Helsinki University of Technology is to be reformed, with the current 12 departments being reorganised into four faculties. The change will take effect on 1 January 2008.

The Helsinki University of Technology is to be reformed, with the current 12 departments being reorganised into four faculties. The change will take effect on 1 January 2008.

Following the reorganisation the four faculties will comprise 24 departments and include some institutes that are currently autonomous. The university said the changes will enables it to develop and better meet the national and international challenges.

“The reform will improve our competitiveness and use of resources in the future,” said the Rector Matti Pursula.
