TU Delft to invest €10M in bionanoscience

06 Feb 2008 | Network Updates

TU Delft has unveiled plans for a €10 million investment in a Department of Bionanoscience, to explore the frontier between biology and nanotechnology. The department will form part of the university’s Kavli Institute of Nanoscience.

The Bionanoscience Department will conduct research ranging from nanoscience to cell biology and synthetic biology, strategically complementing the activities of the existing Nanoscience and Biotechnology departments.

The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg has indicated would be interested in collaborating with bionanoscientists at TU Delft, and further discussions on cooperation will be held with EMBL during a Kavli–EMBL workshop in Delft on 12 and 13 February.
