The US oil and gas pressure control equipment specialist Cameron Corporation is establishing a new subsidiary at its site in Longford, Ireland. The subsidiary will manage non-US based IP and the R&D functions of company’s manufacturing facility in the town.

The move is part of plans to develop and expand its existing manufacturing and R&D facility in Longford Town, creating 140 jobs. Over the next five years Euro15 million will be invested in new buildings and equipment.

The Houston-based company first set up a manufacturing base in Ireland thirty years ago, to provide equipment for the North Sea oil and gas fields. In 2004 an R&D Centre was added, where products, including sub-sea chokes and actuators have been designed and developed. The new investment will further develop Cameron Ireland Ltd’s lead role in procurement and engineering for the company’s products.
