Philips Research has opened a new research lab on the Cambridge Science Park.

“Philips is delighted to be opening its new research facilities in Cambridge. Cambridge is widely renowned as a global innovation hub and we're excited to become a part of this talented community,” said Peter Maskell, Philips UK chairman inaugurating the laboraties.

Peter Hewkin CEO of the Cambridge Network welcomed Philips back to Cambridge, noting that the company took over the Pye Telecommunications business in 1986 and managed it for almost a decade. This gave rise to a range of new telecommunications spin offs.
