UK companies in the bioscience sector are invited to apply for places at the Bio-Entrepreneur School 2009 at Nottingham University, which is supported by East Midlands Development Agency.

The school is a three-day, intensive programme to help delegates explore their entrepreneurial potential, develop enterprise and innovation skills and learn about the commercialisation of IP. Places at previous schools have been provided to life-scientists who are exploring commercialisation and entrepreneurship, but this is the first time companies have been invited to apply.

Martijn Mugge, Enterprise Director for QED Consulting, which is running the school, said, “Entrepreneurship is not only practised in small and start-up companies - it is something that larger companies are keen to develop in their staff  [….]. It has been suggested to us that placing individuals a company wishes to develop into the Bio-Entrepreneur School environment will provide them with a first class introduction to the skills of the entrepreneur.”

The QED Bio-Entrepreneur School 2009 runs from 10 to 12 March 2009 at BioCity Nottingham. Companies and individuals who are interested in discussing this should contact Amanda Edwards: [email protected].
