Funding opportunity

The development agency Scottish Enterprise and the Royal Society of Edinburgh are inviting bids for funding from researchers looking to commercialise their work.

The money is available under Phase III of the Scottish Enterprise/RSE Enterprise Fellowships, which will be tenable for a period of one year commencing October 2009.

Enterprise Fellowships offer a year’s salary, enabling holders to develop their commercial proposition or product, hosted at their university of other higher education institute; business training to provide the expertise to prepare a viable business plan; access to mentors, business experts and professional advisors.

Fellowships are available in life sciences, energy, financial services, electronics, forestry, food and drink, tourism, ship building, aerospace, construction, chemicals and textiles.

The aim of the programme is to increase the commercialisation of the Scottish research base, raise understanding of commercialisation in Scottish universities and create jobs.

See the Edinburgh Royal Society website for details of how to apply.
