Lab21 raises £1.3M form Munich-based Medicis

Lab21, a UK healthcare diagnostics company, has raised £1.3 million in a funding round that included a significant investment from Medicis Capital Group, a Munich-based healthcare investor.

Kai Deusch, founder and Managing Director of Medicis, will join the board of Lab21. Existing investor Nexus Medical Partners also subscribed for shares in this round, which follows fast on the heels of a £2.2 million funding round that closed in December 2008.

Part of the proceeds from this fundraising will enable Lab21 to open a US office in South Carolina.
