Cambridge Research Biologicals wins key role in FP7 project Bioscent

Cambridge Research Biochemicals (CRB) Ltd, a specialist in the synthesis of peptides and protein fragments for use in research, has been named as one of the partners in the Framework Programme 7 project, Bioscent.

Billingham-based CRB’s involvement is as an SME responsible for providing peptide synthesis expertise and supplying synthetic peptides. The company will be eligible for €196,400 as part of the €6.1 million, five-year project.

There are 15 European members of the consortium, which is headed by the University of Pisa, Italy.

CRB’s Commercial Director Emily Humphrys said, “To be involved is very exciting for us because it means that we are collaborating with some of the most respected research groups across Europe.”
