The European Commission has approved the €46.3 million granted by France to the BioIntelligence research and development programme.

The European Commission has approved the €46.3 million granted by France to the BioIntelligence research and development programme, coordinated by Dassault Systèmes.

The programme, which involves SMEs specialising in bioinformatics, life science companies and public research institutes, aims to promote the use of systemic modelling and simulation tools to exploit biomedical databases using the Product Lifecycle Management methodology that is widely applied in manufacturing.

The Commission says the programme is compatible with the EU R&D framework, addresses a market failure and is looking to spur bioinformatics and public health without undermining competition conditions.
