Partnership

Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre (IMEC) has announced that it has established new partnerships with solar cell material and equipment suppliers including MEMC Electronic Materials Inc., Leybold Optics Dresden GmbH, Roth & Rau AG, and Mallinckrodt Baker B.V., in its wafer-based silicon photovoltaics industrial affiliation programme.

As part of this multi-partner R&D programme, a solar cell pilot line will be set up with backing from the Flemish government. This will allow IMEC’s partners to conduct solar cell process development research in a semi-industrial environment, smoothing the path for the results of the research to be transferred directly to industrial production lines.
