H.C. Carbon (High Competence in Carbon) Company, which is developing graphite-based additives as substitutes for metals, has raised €600,000 from High-Tech Gründerfonds, supported by Bayern Kapital.

“We are glad that we could persuade such famous investors of the uniqueness of our commercial idea. Now [….] we can take the necessary measures to transfer the commercial idea into a successful business,” said Werner Handl, co-founder of H.C. Carbon.

“The team has succeeded in short time in winning a high number of famous industrial customers for product evaluation,” said Kay Balster, investment manager of High-Tech Gründerfonds Management GmbH. “Through this financing it will be possible to investigate the wider potential applications of the new development.”

Now H.C.Carbon’s aim is to become the leading supplier of new plastic and coating additives.
