Karolinka: 8 translational medical research centres get support for 2010 – 2012

The Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm County Council have decided to establish/support eight translational medical research centres for 2010-2012.

These are:

  • The Centre for Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine in  Huddinge, which will receive SEK 9 million (€870,000) per year

  • The Medical Centre for cardiovascular disease, Department of Medicine, Solna, to receive SEK 9 million per year

  • The Center for Regenerative Medicine, which will receive SEK 4 million (€380,000) per year

  • The Centre for Immune-Modulating Therapies for Autoimmune Diseases and Cancer, based at the Department of Oncology-Pathology, will get SEK 4 million per year

  • The Centre for Inflammatory Diseases at the Department of Medicine, Solna, will receive SEK 9 million per year

  • The Translational Centre in Diabetes Research, Education and Care, gets SEK 4 million per year

  • The Centre for Preclinical and Clinical Development of Novel Targeted Anticancer Therapies, has been awarded SEK 4 million per year

  • The Breast Cancer Center, Department of Oncology-Pathology will receive SEK 4 million per year
