EBAN: 10th Annual Congress and 5th Award Ceremony

EBAN, the European Trade Association for Business Angels, Seed Funds, and other Early Stage Market Players will hold its 10th Annual Congress and 5th Award Ceremony on April 15th and 16th 2010 in Istanbul, Turkey. The event is hosted by the Middle East Technical University’s Technopolis’ Business Angel Network, METUTECH-BAN.

The Congress and award ceremony is intended for early stage investors in Europe. The event entitled, ‘A Cross-Road for Continents, Cultures and Early Stage Investors’ aims to share best practice, raise awareness and build relations among investors and others involved in closing the equity gap and who interested in collaborating and investing together.

Among this year’s themes are:

  • Investment sectors of interest to early stage investors and other transforming initiatives in the market;

  • The changing face of VC in Europe, a special presentation from the European Venture Capital Association;

  • Developing successful exit opportunities;

  • Raising an Early Stage Fund: From an Angel Network to a fund;

  • Angels reflecting on their last investment year

There will also be break-out sessions around the following themes:

  • Creating winning national ecosystems;

  • Collaboration between business angels and seed funds;

  • Cross border investing: networks and initiatives;

  • How to get started - making your first investments;

  • Universities and early stage investing

Over 300 participants from all over Europe and the nearby Eurasian region are expected in Istanbul, which is the European Capital of Culture 2010
