TU Delft: Dirk Jan van den Berg to be VP European Affairs in the IDEA League

The CEO of TU Delft, Dirk Jan van den Berg, is to become vice president for European Affairs of the IDEA League, the alliance of Europe’s five leading technical universities, at the start of the next academic year.

His brief will be to put forward the views of IDEA League’s members, TU Delft, Imperial College London, ETH Zurich, RWTH Aachen and ParisTech, to the European Commission, as it shapes the Europe 2020 strategy.

Van den Berg said, “In the discussion surrounding the Europe 2020 strategy of the European Commission, it is important the views of Europe’s leading technological universities are heard. The importance of technology in designing and constructing the future of science of Europe deserves our full attention.”
