NTNU’s celebrated its Centennial yesterday (September 15) with a full programme of events that began at 07:50 when Rector Torbjørn Digernes hoisted the flag outside the main building and blew out one hundred candles on a birthday cake.
The Rector then invited 18 international guests for breakfast and later in the day the Centennial Conference for 350 international and domestic discussed, “The role of universities in a globalised world”.
The university also held an open day focusing on, ‘The people who built modern Norway.’
In the evening King Harald V was guest of honour at the Centennial Dinner at the Archbishop’s Palace.
