EIT Manufacturing

EIT Manufacturing is a public-private partnership, co-funded by the European Union. It is one of nine Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

The manufacturing industry represents 16% of both global and European economies and plays key role in social and environmental sustainability. Manufacturing is the driving force behind industrial innovation, job creation, and economic growth, which is why EIT Manufacturing brings together over 200 partners - including leading industrial corporates, startups, SMEs, academics and research institutions - to tackle industry challenges and accelerate innovation.

A key factor in transforming knowledge into value is overcoming innovation fragmentation. To ensure that groundbreaking solutions reach the market, industry has access to the right talent, and entrepreneurs can thrive, EIT Manufacturing integrates education, innovation and business creation.

Ultimately, EIT Manufacturing aims to improve people’s lives through sustainable manufacturing while supporting Europe’s climate goals and ensuring that the workforce is prepared for the future challenges.

Since its establishment in 2020, EIT Manufacturing has made a tangible impact, including:

  • Funding over 120 innovation projects, bringing ideas from the lab to commercialisation and scaling.
  • Enabling over 900 connections between manufacturing clients and partners.
  • Engaging around 32,000 students and learners in its educational programmes.
  • Delivering over 7,200 tailored learning paths.
  • Supporting more than 500 startups through its ecosystem.
