WMG launches new Steels Processing Research Centre

WMG, at the University of Warwick, has announced the creation of a new Advanced Steel Research Centre. The new Centre complements Tata Steel’s announcement today, Tuesday 23rd September 2014, of the creation of their new international research centre to be based at the University of Warwick.

Chalmers: The sound of an atom has been captured

Researchers at Chalmers are first to show the use of sound to communicate with an artificial atom. They can thereby demonstrate phenomena from quantum physics with sound taking on the role of light. The results are published by the journal Science.

ETH: New centre for biomedical imaging

ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich are pooling their expertise in biomedical imaging technologies. Their new competence centre EXCITE Zurich aims to efficiently translate new ideas from basic research into clinical practice. The centre will be inaugurated on Saturday.
