Europe’s flagship digital infrastructure for trusted artificial intelligence solutions, AI-on-Demand Platform (AIoD), supports European AI research innovation and adoption by offering access to AI-related tools, services and datasets, a space to share research updates and outcomes while connecting experts across the continent. With support from the European Commission through the AI4Europe and DeployAI projects, the platform offers an environment designed to serve both academic research and industrial innovation under a single, trusted European framework.

AIoD is a community-driven digital space that supports European AI research and innovation. It promotes values such as quality, trustworthiness, and transparency by offering access to AI tools, pipelines, datasets, training materials, services and collaborative opportunities for everyone interested in AI. By fostering openness and collaboration, AIoD plays a key role in advancing the EU’s vision for ethical and reliable AI.

The new version of the platform, released in June 2025, expands to include new services within a unified digital infrastructure by providing a single, trusted access point for cutting-edge European AI tools, data, and services for research and industry. As a unified gateway, the AIoD connects resources across the European AI ecosystem, making them accessible and reusable.

Supporting both research and industry

The newest version of AIoD provides a dedicated dual-track system to meet the distinct needs of Europe’s research community and its industry players.

For research, AIoD delivers a powerful, researcher-focused suite of datasets, tools, and other AI resources, driving forward trustworthy, cutting-edge AI research across Europe. It aggregates results from EU-funded AI projects, making them discoverable, reusable, and shareable, and thereby helping to foster a European community of AI developers, scientists, and innovators.

For the industry and public sector, the platform provides market-ready, enterprise-level AI tools and services, as well as access to computing resources. It integrates support for building AI pipelines, marketplace for AI modules and business navigator for discovering opportunities and trends in the European AI landscape. The platform supports businesses, start-ups, SMEs, and public sector organisations in developing, training, and deploying AI applications efficiently and responsibly.

CSC contributes to technical development

Developed through the EU-funded DeployAI and AI4Europe projects, the AIoD represents a one-stop shop that bridges the gap between research and business. It contributes to Europe’s efforts to advance AI innovation, strengthen technological independence, and promote values such as trustworthiness, transparency, and responsibility in the development and use of AI.

CSC contributes to the development and integration of the AI-on-Demand Platform. As a member of the consortium in the DeployAI project, CSC contributes to the platform’s architecture and technical specifications, as well as the development and interoperability of its core components. CSC integrates the LUMI supercomputer and the LUMI AI Factory to the platform to provide the capacity needed for developing and operating ambitious AI solutions.

“AIoD is an opportunity for our customers and users, who could, for example, offer AI solutions developed at LUMI AI Factory via this new platform,” says Aleksi Kallio, the director for LUMI AI Factory services at CSC.
