The University is pleased to welcome Enrique Veloso as Head in the International relations office.

Enrique Veloso comes with a strong background in education and mobility. He joins the University form the  University of Santiago de Compostela, where during 20 years he subsequently led the offices for international, for global engagement and for mobility. Furthermore, he is an active member of various European initiatives (Research framework, Erasmus Mundus, ALFA, EuropeAid and Tempus). Speaking English, French and Spanish, he perfectly fits into the University’s multilingual environment.

“What attracted me most in the University is its real international profile. Universities can have international policies  or international projection, but not all of them mean “internationalisation” when they talk about projects with an international scope.”

A strong international outlook are part of the University’s genetic fiber. Over the years, it has established numerous international partnerships for education, research and mobility. Visiting scientists and lecturers from across the globe teach and research in its faculties and research centres, and a semester abroad is mandatory for its Bachelor students. “Being the only university of the country and with a clear international vocation, the University is called to play an important role in the higher education arena which no doubt will be translated into enforcing international image and benchmarking, enhancing cooperation projects and into initiatives for academic and research activities.”
