Politecnico di Milano is a Crowd4SDG project partner. The project was funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Science with and for Society (SwafS) programme.

Prof. Barbara Pernici from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering and her research group is taking part in the project. The recently inaugurated project studies how "citizen science", (a scientific activity involving citizens at various levels), provides useful data and proposals to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how innovations suggested by the community contribute to progress.

The project started during a webinar of the “AI for Good”, seriesorganised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) of the United Nations. The potential of the combined use of crowdsourcing and Artificial Intelligence in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic was analysed during the webinar.
